Eligibility Requirements

Age & Weight
  • Be at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent)
  • Weigh at least 110 pounds (50 kg)
  • No upper age limit for healthy donors
Health Status
  • Be in good general health
  • Feel well on the day of donation
  • Not have cold, flu, or other illness
  • Have normal blood pressure and temperature
Medical History
  • No recent major surgery (within 4 weeks)
  • No recent tattoos or piercings (within 3 months)
  • No recent travel to malaria-endemic areas
  • No history of certain medical conditions
Lifestyle
  • No recent drug use or high-risk behavior
  • Adequate sleep and nutrition
  • No recent alcohol consumption
  • Not pregnant or breastfeeding
